I finally caught up with Loveless (thanks to Kamibana ♥). I was waiting till volume 12 came out (deffinitely buying it!), but since it’s taking ages + there’s no date as far as I know + I’ll understand the story better if I read it in English, I decided to go back to scanlations again.
Spoilers ahead! (up to chapter 114)
I love what happens in these chapters after volume 11. It’s very interesting to see the Zero boys interact with Ritsuka’s mom (they had a completly different image of her, no wonder) or how they explain Ritsuka has actually changed nothing after he lost his memories… However, I still get the feeling Kouga Yun is either bored of this series or she’s too focused on other stuff (she was drawing another manga at the same time, right?).
Chapters are too short, too little happens, sometimes random characters interrupt the scenes with not so interesting apportations to the plot… It makes me really sad, because I love this manga.
I love the story, but I don’t like the way it’s being told lately (when I say lately I mean years).
Of course I will still keep reading and buying the volumes, but I wish I could feel the same love I felt when I was reading it the first time… I think it was around the time Kouga Yun was hired to design characters for Gundam that it all started going down (in my opinion at least).
Oh, well. The art is still lovely though. Kouga Yun has a very personal way of expressing feelings through her drawings, which is something I have and will always admire.
